How refactoring works¶
Refactoring is used to modernize your old management system. It allows you to transform outdated software into efficient and updated services.
How it works¶
The process starts with a visual analysis of your current system. Imagine you have old software to manage hotel bookings: the AI analyze the date entry screens, room prices, and confirmation buttons to understand how the workflow functions. Once the logic is reconstructed, glacom® experts create the new version and you verify that everything respects your actual procedures.
What you need to do¶
- Provide screenshots of all the screens of your current management system.
- Describe the workflows that are not evident from the images.
- Verify the final result by testing the functions with your real data.
- Report any missing parts during the testing phase.
What glacom® does¶
- Uses AI to read images and derive functions and data flows.
- Reconstructs the service architecture in a modern and lean way.
- Integrates new functions with your current systems, if provided for in integrazioni.
- Supports migrazione dati from the old system to the new one.
Limits¶
Refactoring cannot recover functions that do not exist in the original software or that were not documented via screenshots. If a process is managed "verbally" or on paper and is not present in the management system, it will not be reconstructed automatically.
Frequent problems¶
- What happens if the old software is too complex? → glacom® experts simplify unnecessary steps to make the service faster.
- Can I change the way I work during refactoring? → Yes, you can request changes to the flows during the verification phase.
- Is data lost? → No, data is moved following the migrazione dati plan.
