What happens when you upload content

This page explains how glacom.AI processes your files to make them understandable for AI assistants. This helps you understand why a document is not immediately available after uploading.

How it works

When you upload a file, glacom.AI does not read it like a human. Instead, it transforms it into a format that allows for extremely fast searches. For example, if you upload a price list with a shop's opening hours, the system isolates this specific information to provide it to the customer in a few milliseconds.

The process follows these steps: 1. Extraction: the system extracts all readable text from the file. 2. Cleaning: useless elements that could confuse the assistant are removed. 3. Splitting: the text is broken into small blocks, called chunks, to prevent information from getting mixed up. 4. Transformation: each block becomes a numerical value representing its meaning, through a process called embedding. 5. Saving: the data is stored so that semantic search can find it instantly.

What you need to do

Upload your documents or connect your sources. Once done, just wait for the indexing to complete.

What glacom® does

glacom.AI manages the entire technical processing. The system analyzes the content and organizes it internally to ensure that the generation of the response is accurate and based only on your data.

Limits

  • Content is not active until indexing is finished.
  • Processing times vary: a few minutes for standard documents, more time for very large or complex files.
  • If the text in the file is an unreadable image (low quality scan), the system will not be able to extract the information.

Frequent problems

  • I uploaded the file but the assistant doesn't know it? → Indexing is still in progress: wait a few minutes.
  • Can I speed up the upload? → No, the transformation process requires a fixed technical time.
  • What happens if I edit a file already uploaded? → You must upload it again to update the indexing.

From the app
