Accessibility

Make your site usable for everyone, including people with visual or motor disabilities. This helps you expand your audience and comply with current regulations.

How it works

Accessibility means anyone can use your online services, regardless of the tools they use. For example, a visually impaired customer must be able to find a product price or your shop's opening hours using software that reads text aloud.

glacom® ensures the site is built to be read correctly by this software, that colors are clearly visible, and that every element can be reached without using a mouse.

What you need to do

To maintain accessibility, when you add new content you must: 1. Insert text descriptions for every image you upload. 2. Avoid using color as the only way to provide information (example: do not write "click the red button to cancel", but "click the red 'Cancel' button"). 3. Use clear and simple text in your content.

What glacom® does

The glacom® team handles the technical structure: - Keyboard navigation: allows moving through menus and links using only the Tab key. - Screen reader compatibility: organizes content so voice assistants read it in the correct order. - Readable contrasts: chooses color combinations that do not strain the eyes and are distinguishable. - Alternative texts: implements the technical fields where image descriptions are entered.

Limits

Technical accessibility is guaranteed by glacom®, but content accessibility depends on you. If you upload an image without a description or an unoptimized PDF, that single element will not be accessible.

Frequent problems

  • How do I check if the site is accessible? → Try navigating the pages using only the Tab key on your keyboard instead of the mouse.
  • Is it required by law? → For many business categories and for public administration, it is a regulatory obligation.
  • Does accessibility slow down the site? → No, in fact, an accessible site is usually faster and better indexed.

Tip

An accessible site improves the experience for everyone, including those browsing from a smartphone under direct sunlight.

From the app

Not available from the app: accessibility management happens during the creation phase of the grafica and the landing.
