Text becomes meaning

This feature allows glacom.AI to understand the writer's intent, even if they don't use the exact words found in your documents. It helps you make responses natural and precise.

How it works

The system doesn't search for simple words, but for the meaning of the sentence. For example, if a customer asks "When are you open?" and your documents say "Opening hours are from 9 to 18", glacom® understands it is the same information and answers correctly.

This happens because every concept is transformed into a numerical value. Similar concepts end up close to each other. It works the same way across different languages: a question in English will get the correct answer based on a document in Italian, because the meaning is the same.

You can learn more about how this process enables semantic search.

What you need to do

Nothing: the process of transforming text into meaning is automatic when you upload your content.

What glacom® does

glacom® analyzes your texts and organizes them so the AI assistant can find the most relevant information based on the context of the question, not just keywords. This process happens during indexing.

Limits

The system understands the meaning, but it cannot invent information you haven't provided. If a concept is too ambiguous or missing from your documents, the assistant might not find the correct answer or might answer "I don't know", as explained in I don't know.

Frequent problems

  • Does the system understand synonyms? → Yes, it recognizes different words that express the same concept.
  • Does it work with foreign languages? → Yes, the meaning is recognized regardless of the language used.
  • Do I need to write a list of synonyms? → No, glacom® handles this part automatically.
